Bayfront Retrofit

MyGreenBuildings has completed putting the finishing touches on an extensive retrofit and remodel of this bayfront home. From rendering to reality took just three months. An older, non-performing structure was transformed into a true "high-performance" home.

MyGreenBuildings was contracted to complete a high-performance retrofit and facelift of the Venice bayfront home of Dr. Gary and Carmella Wright. Among the many structural and performance upgrades completed during the project were:

• strapping the roof structure and walls to the concrete foundation
• insulation of all exterior walls, sealing the attic and soffit vents
• insulation of the underside of the roof plane
• re-sizing the HVAC equipment
• installing a solar hot-water heater
• installing a new roof with secondary waterproof barrier
• relandscaping with a drought-tolerant Florida-friendly yard.
