For Immediate Release:
Inbar Architect AIA and MyGreenBuildings to build first LEED certified sustainable home on Casey Key Beachfront
Sarasota Florida - Inbar architect AIA and MyGreenBuildings have been selected to build what is slated to be the first LEED certified home located on Casey Key Beach, in Nokomis Florida.
“One look at the renderings for this project and we were hooked, says Steve Ellis, co-owner of MyGreenBuildings. As a sustainable builder, we of course love to build properly scaled – impeccably designed architecture. We are honored to have our name associated with this project”, said Ellis.
The elegant coastal contemporary design was developed by Yehuda Inbar AIA architect. MyGreenBuildings was introduced to the homeowner since the Owner had expressed a high degree of interest in building sustainably on this – the most exclusive stretch of sand in Sarasota County.
The design has an extremely livable single story floor plan, and the sculptured look of a work of art. "Because this home is being built on land typically reserved for what has become a haven for mega-mansions, the scale of this design reaches back to the past, when nature was more dominant then the living structures" said Inbar. "We feel this project will inspire people to look closely at the scale of their project – and perhaps realize that bigger is not always better."
The home design lives in harmony with the environment by clustering three buildings organized around landscaped and decked exterior spaces and is reminiscent of the kind of understated elegance that many beachfront home designs have long forgotten. This home is all about quality and the “beachy” feeling you get from living along the waters edge.
Included in the design will be a waterfall edge water feature leading to an exterior dining area with serpentine clear opening walls of glass doors, extra large overhangs, natural ventilation, plenty of light, and lots of decks. Durable and sustainable building materials will be used such as Timberstrand dimensional lumber, energy efficient glass, bio-based insulation and solar technology. Interior finishes will be sustainable and healthy as well. “We fully expect that this home will be one of the highest ranking LEED certified homes in the state”, said Grant Castilow, co-owner of MyGreenBuildings. |
